FAMILY-OWNED IS WHO WE ARE
In June of 1956, the Stokesdale Star newsletter announced that a new insurance office was opening in Stokesdale: Blackburn Insurance Service. Albert Dee “A.D.” & Mary Blackburn built the business from the ground up by always putting their customers first and establishing long-term relationships grounded in mutual trust. This brand of local service has fostered long-term relationships with both clients and employees. Blackburn Insurance has had several employees who were part of this team for 30+, 40+, and even 50+ years. Today, Blackburn Insurance is in the capable hands of A.D.'s sons, Joey and Jeffrey. Two of A.D.'s grandsons, Clint and Rex, work at the agency today as well.​

Agency Founders
Joey joined the team in 1979, after his graduation from Appalachian State University. He uses his decades of experience to advise and educate clients in personal insurance.
A.D.’s youngest son, Jeffrey, an East Carolina graduate, entered the business a few years later and became our agency’s Life Insurance specialist.

Under the stewardship of Joey and Jeffrey, the legacy continues, adhering to the same “Golden Rule” policy that was exemplified by A.D. Blackburn: Treat the clients as you would want to be treated.
