Blackburn Insurance Service was created in 1956 by Albert Dee “AD” & Mary Blackburn. AD & Mary built the business from the ground up by always putting their customers first and establishing long-term relationships grounded in mutual trust. Several of our employees have been with the agency for more than twenty years, including the Blackburn children (and grandchildren) who have worked in the agency over the years.
In 1979, son Joey joined the team, after his graduation from Appalachian State University. He uses his decades of experience to advise and educate clients in personal insurance.
AD’s youngest son, Jeffrey, an East Carolina graduate, entered the business a few years later and became our agency’s Life Insurance & Retirement Planning specialist.
Under the stewardship of Joey and Jeffery, the legacy continues, adhering to the same “Golden Rule” instituted by A.D. Blackburn:
